Nice Gevery with black cherry, a bit of sappy framboise, sweet cinnamon and turned earth notes. Very good acidity pining it all down, and great persistence in the finish. This is in a great spot now and over the next 5-7 years.

Tasted blind, the ‘11 Fourrier GC comes across as a solid villages wine about a decade old, but I’m pleasantly surprised this has come out so well in a vintage as difficult as 2011. Unlike most 2011s that have come my way, this doesn’t have a vegetal edge to it. Demure cherry, game, and cinnamon are loosely knit together on the nose which is fundamentally satisfying. The mellow palate suggests that this is a good time to consume these.

Blind. Lightly reductive, purple fruit, meaty, transparent. Obviously Fourrier but not speaking as much Gevrey as Chambolle/Morey for me. Bitterness on finish perhaps due to underripeness but otherwise good fruit quality. 91-92

After the initial reductive nose blows off, shows pure fruit, very pleasant. The finish shows bitterness from alcohol though. Without typical 2011 unripeness. 91-92

Pale almost translucent colour with a slight bricking. The nose is an elegant mix of drying dark and red fruit, warm spices and an earthy mineral note, bright fresh and somewhat intense mouthfeel, with plenty of fruits, high acidity, well integrated tannins and a medium plus finish, this used to be an incredible value buy.
