Bottle was kept from release date at 12 degrees in my cellar. I would say now is a great drinking window, indeed still plenty of dark fruit, very fine tannin. I preferred it best after 90 minutes in a medium (white wine) decanter. Give it at least 40 minutes of air to open up.

Ripe red cherries and a nice Pinot funk, med-grippy tannins, med acid. 13.5% Alc.
Amazingly, this is still all about the fruit, with plenty of grip and acid to develop positively and no hint of green/pyrazine characteristic of the difficult 11’ vintage. A nice weeknight glass.
In comparison, we recently sampled a delicious and multidimensional 11’ Fourrier Clos St. Jacques from magnum that was a big step up in complexity; my WOTN on a table that included Mazis, Vougeots and an Amoureuses (sadly flawed)

A fantastic ‘11! No doubt in a leaner style but there’s clear Fourrier signature and it’s so fresh, with absolutely zero greenness, just beautiful floral perfume and bright red cherry fruit that waft from the glass. The palate gains notably in weight and intensity and its pure, focused and saline-mineral inflicted finish keeps on lingering. Great showing for a vintage I generally avoid in reds.

Beautiful. Drank alongside Faiveley Beze Les Ouvrées Rodin and on first sip the Fourrier was better. Over 1-2 hours the Beze separated itself slightly, as you would expect a grand cru to, but this is a fantastic bottle of wine and in a great drinking window. I wish I had more than one bottle
