Nose and initial flavor remind of a northern Rhone, but it lacks the iron/blood component and is more slanted toward the fruity side like an Aussie Shiraz. Nose is spice box and a little menthol and some black fruit. On the palate it is initially soft but then bites with acidity and tannins. Some oak and vanilla flavors finish it off with a medium length finish. Overall, great for the price, but nothing overly complex.
