A precise wine, although too young and powerful to be ready, already showing the refinement and grace of the Monte Bellos. A fantastic wine tour and tasting led by Michel, culminating with this wine. I was patient enough to let it sit in glass for nearly half hour and it repaid my patience by revealing it's pallette of dark fruit first and herbs, eucalyptus and minerality, earthiness later. One can tell by now that it will evolve with age and be a truly great wine in 10-20 years or more. Question I had and forgot to ask is if the MonteBello grows on limestone as well as the Chardonnay.
