It's always fun to hold a wine past its expected life; just out of curiosity. A few years ago we attended a horizontal Tablas '04 tasting and to everyone's surprise the Rose (before it was called 'Dianthus') was a surprise hit. Nutty, complex, interesting...
This experience wasn't that. Here the wine met expectations. Generally flat, oxidized, no life, no fun. C'est la vie.

Holding up well after a bit of time in the cellar. A well made rose that is aromatic, balanced, and pleasing. Palate offers notes of candied fruit, strawberry, watermelon and an interesting spicy note with an acidic backbone that adds structure. Very nice and sad to see the last bottle from the vintage go.

Second Sunday Group: 2011 Bordeaux & others (Mike's): Deepest color of the warm ups, almost an orange/copper pink hue. Berry, spice, watermelon and strawberry compote aromas. Flavors of berries, spice, cherry and raspberry.

As always my favorite rose. Full bodied, strawberry, watermelon. Delicious.
