I had a glass with dinner, and it was outstanding, just what I needed. Cherries, strawberries, provencal herbs, with a beautiful tart palate and a fine tannic backbone. 2011 concerns be damned, this was a beautiful glass of wine.

Celebrating 2021, welcoming 2022 (Bellingham): I really liked the bottle I opened over 1 1/2 years ago, but this one disappointed. It was brambly, herbacious and green. So different than my last, I'm hoping this was a flawed bottle rather than a wine starting to show pyrazines that weren't noticeable earlier.

Aubert de Villaine outperformed the village and the vintage. None of the green notes of some 11's, this was a balanced beauty in a good place right now. Cherries, strawberries, provencal herbs. This paired well with lamb chops and later on its own. I have a few more bottles, and while I'd have no problem opening another soon, these are in no danger of declining for several years.

I have just two bottles of this vintage, and based on previous reviewer notes decided it was time to drink. I think the earlier descriptions are mostly accurate, although there are some subtleties that I do not get. However, it is a very "pretty" wine and still drinking nicely. Could go at least several more years, perhaps longer in a good cellar.

As others have said recently, this wine is probably not getting any better. Light on its feet in the aromatics department but offers decent depth and weight on the palate. Medium finish. Nice earthy tones and a mineral spine. Bright red Fruit is still strong. Went perfect with cedar plank salmon and sautéed mushrooms and onions. Very good.
