Elegant nose of strawberries, red plums, smoke. Sweet core of plum on the palate, spreading to every corner, nice acid cut, smoothly integrated tannins, medium finish. Charming, perfumy, much more friendly than the other Chevillon 2011s. 50 + 17 + 17 + 8.
Contrary to the expectations in my note from nine months ago, this wine is completely open and showing beautifully tonight with Chaignots spicy notes in the nose and mouth as well as lead pencil elements and a silky texture; tannins are fully rounded. The wine seems to be fully into secondary phase.
garnet/ruby color. Nose offers up small red and black small fruits, coffee, spice. Lovely chocolate fruit with smooth silky tannins and earthy minerality. Super 1er Cru NSG from a most reliable vigneron.
Probably heading to a shut-down phase, but not fully there, yet. Smoky, spicy nose with red berries. The mouth is medium-weight with a silky texture and smoky red berries. Tannins are round and the acidity is moderate but correct. It appears to be a wine to put away for 3-4 years and then drink for the next 10-12 after that.
