NYE 2011. Nat cork, a light and faded red thats thin and clear but a bit dusky in the glass. A nose of beef bourgnon. Tasty wine that initially offers up notes of sasparilla or root beer, and a more medicinal thing, lively and almost zesty with cherry fruit that is subtle but still very much present. Really well balanced and drinking beautifully. Very much enjoyed.
nice immediately upon opening with clean and pure fruit and a rustic earthy note. but things go south quickly with air. there is a green cedarly note that isn't pleasant on the nose - my 4 year old who smells a lot of wine screwed up her face and said that it smelled like fish. and it is too sweet on the finish. just weird out-of-whack wine.
