  • Bottle breathe for 45 minutes. Nose quite reserved but turned into flower, cherry with elegant after 1 hour in the glass. Tannin quite integrated with some branches, smoke and red fruit. Medium finishing. Best after 1.5 hour in the glass. Nice wine

  • Popped and slow ox'd for two hours. Pale ruby color. Beautiful nose of cherry, flowers, forest floor, balsamic and cigar box. Dry, medium plus extract, light bodied, high acidity and medium but rounded, well-integrated tannins. This has a silky mouthfeel. Long finish of cherry and hibiscus. Beautiful 'young' bottle that outscored most of its counterparts.

  • This pours light ruby in the glass with faint bricking. The nose is of dried dark cherry, spicy oak, twigs, damp forest floor, bay leaf, cedar, leather, and cinnamon. The palate enters on red currants and dark cherry. It turns quite structured with medium plus tannin and medium plus acid. The finish is very nice with cherry pit element that lingers nicely. There is definitely a green element here on the nose and palate but it’s not bothersome to me. What interesting here is if I tasted this blind I think I’d guess something Italian, possible Sangiovese. Dark cherry, and the structure on the palate would certainly support that notion. Aromatically this was a little tight today, but I could imagine revisiting this in 5 years and liking it a lot more as there is clearly some complexity in reserve.

  • Retains good colour; fragrant, true Pinosity, strawberried, touch of hot tar; supple palate, velvety real depth; plenty on an extended, robust finish. Will age gracefully.
