  • We buy a case of this every year, and this was the first one of the 2010s opened. Shows great depth, black fruit, and tannins that are beginning to smooth out but portend a long life, longer than I will be able to wait.

  • dark fruit and chocolate. Monolithic. Very ripe but pretty tannic and coarse. Nice flavors but too modern.

  • Decanted 8 hours at cellar temp prior to first taste, and consumed over the next 2 hours. Amazing, blows-me-away nose of plum, earth, candied cherries, and vanilla. Flavors of black cherry, earth and plum, still with ample tannins, despite the 10 hours it has spent in the decanter. I think I'd bump the drinking window up a couple of years...drink 2016-2022.

  • Quoting this review from November, it's spot on.

First taste was after about a 20 minute decant which was not long enough, give this at least a couple of hours, ideally you let this breathe overnight, without the airtime this is full of extra grippy tannins. Once it aired out the nose stood out with oak, dark cherries and pepper. All three continued in the palette along with still strong tannins that had faded to the point of being bearable. This is a full bodied wine that is definitely fruit forward.

Definitely a good value, but also needs the time to breathe for best enjoyment.
