Starting to fade a bit, so drink up. First 30 minutes still showing some strong tannic elements that thereafter smoothed out. Loads of black fruits and after 90 minutes plenty of creaminess and some Oak with a touch of cassis.

45 minutes of decanting is all that was needed. Probably better than my last bottle and this wine has changed over the past year. It has softened, a little less spice and the acidity is seemingly much lower. Rounder and even more overripe black and some red fruits coming through but not jammy, only a touch of extra sweetness. Only a modest amount of spice comes through now. The Malo treatment is also more noticeable as a slightly creamy element comes through. The Oak, despite 20 months' treatment, is only in the background and a nice touch. Maybe it's a 92 point wine, but clearly seems to have hit is peak drinking window. Enjoy at peak over the next 2, maybe 3, years.

Monastrell (Mouvedre) qualities very evident in this modestly priced Tarima Hill. Still in pretty good condition and really enjoyable with food.

EEE Feb. 2020; 6 whites and 6 reds poured fully blind (@ My place): In the bouquet red and dark berries, some toast and vanilla. Same on the palate, chocolate, a firm dose of sweetness, ripe dark berries, juicy acidity and a good concentration.

Weekly tasting group RWP #356: 6 random whites and 6 random reds as a blind test (@ My place): In the bouquet raspberry and cherry yoghurt, dark berries and spiciness. On the palate dark berries, juicy cherries, firm acidity and a pleasant dose of oak. I should remember to save my last bottle for a few more years.
