A Zinfandel from a vineyard with vines up to 102 years old. Unlike younger vintages of Carla's Vineyard, bottled as AVA San Francisco Bay, this was bottled as AVA Contra Costa County. 14% alcohol.
Moderately evolved brick-red color. Dull, dusty and musty nose with aromas of mildew and earth cellar. This reeks so badly of TCA I'm not even entertaining a thought of tasting the wine to check out how its structure is holding up.
A badly corked bottle. 28,50€ down the drain.

Wonderfully aged zin. Showing claret style. Great aroma.
