Is there a more consistently delicious Cabernet from Napa, vintage to vintage, at roughly the $100 price point, than Paul Hobbs? Of course, people have caught on how great this wine is, and it's no longer a $75 wine, and more a $110 wine. But factoring inflation, I think it's still worth it. Whether you're opening a bottle at 15 years of age or in its youth, you'll get a 93-95 point experience. Of course there's some extraordinary years like 2002. But hot vintage, cool vintage, drought year, wet year, every bottle I've had of this has been remarkably consistent. Never disappointed.

Vibrant notes of violet and licorice on the nose. Good punch of black fruit segues to light oakiness and forest floor. Decanted for a couple of hours before tasting.

Great cabernet as I expected with Paul Hobbs! Great color and depth of fruit. Nice long smooth finish. Balanced, full bodied, and structured. My only nit would perhaps not the laser focus of an awe shattering cab but then the score would be higher. I was tempted to go with 94 but I liked the cab too much! This was BYOB for gf's bday so no real decant. It drank well despite.
Tannins were shed. I would suggest that the wine is drinking very nicely now and for the next 5 to 7 years. Then it would start the gentle downslope. I was supposed to have six but only snagged two. I will drink my last one perhaps another year or two from now.

Well made cab. Pnp, nice nose. Still Lots of tannins. Real nice mid pallet flavor but slightly lacking in the back. Drinking well now and will still develop over the next decade. This is a big full body cab.

Really good wine. Black fruit--blackberry, currant--on entry. Some salinity and stone mid-palate. Nice mouth-filling wine. Tannins and acids are just about completely resolved, Anybody who has this in their cellar can open it now without regret,

(Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley) Opaque red violet color; appealing, ripe black currant, ripe blackberry, violets nose; tasty, violets, ripe black currant, mulberry palate with sweet tannins; approachable now but could use 3 years; medium-plus finish (14.8% alcohol)
