A private lunch (L'Arnsbourg/Jean-Georges Klein***, Untermuhltal, Alsace, France): Very lively colour, lovely fruit, oak hardly noticeable, good weight, relatively masculine and minerally, lovely 2002 freshness, still very primary, savoury, tannins pack a punch, good length, opens up nicely in the glass but would have benefitted from decanting, works very well with the Dos de Chevreuil - it brings out the sweetness of the fruit. Drink 2017 - 2027.

Soft ruby color with notes of cherries and spice. Reticent though. Nice acidity carrying bright red cherry tones through the finish.
