Hints of black fruits and new oak on the nose. Medium-bodied, this seems to be of two minds. The fruit tannin seems completely resolved and lovely, but there's a harsh overlay of wood tannin that makes the wine overly dry. This wine was terribly woody at release and I surmised at the time it probably wouldn't age well. (I only put one bottle down) All in all, this isn't bad. 86

Pulled my last bottle of this. I haven’t been drinking much Syrah of late but this wine made me remember how much I do like it. Nice color and expansive nose, palate of leather and earth. Very full wine but not overblown. Went quite well with food.

89-91: The previous notes on this wine are all over the place, which seems to match my experience. This wine is quite aromatic, I get the classic glycerin/bacon and smokey notes particularly, with red/black fruit on the palate. Tannins are fine, finish lingers. Slightest hint of effervescence on the pop, it blew off quickly. This wine is very good, but a touch volatile. Wife hated it.

Quite lovely and unexpected. I remember opening this several years ago and thinking it was flabby, too big, and just crude. But my oh my, with some age it certainly has bloomed. Deep garnet color and a nose that just fills the room as you pour of a fruit orchard if you’ve ever picked your own. On palate, nicely integrated fruit and acidity. Showing yummy plums, cherries, with deeper tones of forest floor. Nice long finish. Very enjoyable but alas my last bottle.
