  • Darker still, yet not quite golden. The nose showed bruised apple, but again a very savoury palate with just sufficient acidity. Perhaps 2nd best of the three

All in all, interesting to taste these, yet on the strength of this, no rush to try again. The 3 bottles having been recorked at the end of the evening, will be sampled over the next 2-3 days to see if talk of extended aeration as a miracle 'cure' has any effect!

  • Complete mixed bag at the table. My wife hated it and asked if I thought it was flawed. Notes of honey and wet stones without being even the slightest bit sweet.. If I tased it blind I doubt I waould have called it Chenin. Well made wine that got better and more interesting over the 2 hours it was opened. I would be tempted to buy more for a long term experiment. Baumard is more my style from this property.

  • Softer than most Savennieres, with ripe apple fruit touched with a hint of beeswax and apricots. A bit of chalky minerality on the finish. Pleasant enough wine, but without the acidic zing I look for in Savennieres.
