Blind sample from Asparagus. Good stuff. Guessed Puligny 1er 2015. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, yellow lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of citrus lemon, white and ripe yellow peach, chalk dust. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of salty wet stone minerality, integrated toast oak, citrus lemon drops, mix of white peach and nicely ripe yellow peach, chalk dust edges. Long harmoniously salty sweet finish. Very good quality. Indeed Burgundian though there is some degree of ripeness.

First bottle of a case of 12. I thought I might have left this too long but not a problem. With perfect storage at the Wine Society and with a screw cap cap, this still seems very youthful. Beautiful nose of brioche/pastry, maybe orange, something Christmassy even about this and a touch of flinty minerality. On the palate it has nice weight, finish is a touch harsh. Others mention high acidity, which I love so not an issue here, indeed it’s quite Chablis-like. Maybe just a touch high on alcohol although label says 13.5%. But very nice oaked chardonnay. Went very well with a cod meunière and later some St Felician cheese.

From 75cl screwcap. My last bottle, and the best yet. Struck-match, smoky, oaky scent; densely concentrated, sharply acidic entry without any emollient relief; the laser-beam quality extends on to the intense, acidic, lime-fruited mid-palate. Hard work, with the afterburn noted on 07.12.2020, not a rebuy. I'll stick to the estate chardonnay, and the occasional Maté's Vineyard in future. 90P(?)

From 75cl screwcap. Much as noted on 30.04.2020. Burningly acidic. For young throats and stomachs (or perhaps for reflux-masochists, if that is a thing). 88-89P

Lovely. Lemon curd, great acid and balance. With a vegetal streak which I liked (but others did not)
