This is a big ol’ ripe wine with a big ol’ ripe Nose! Big aromatics of super ripe damson plums, tilled earth and coffee grounds, black cherries, a faint floral bouquet and spices. Very full bodied and incredibly rich. This is loaded with super ripe black and blueberry, garrigue and wet stones with a hot, alcoholic finish. This is Amarone-like and best with American Chinese food or after dinner. It’s remarkably youthful and tastes as if it will reach age 20 with ease, but sadly, this is my last bottle. 92

I stand by my notes/kvetch session from 8/19/2020...: the wine is modern, extracted (15.5% abv) and well made, but rather uninspiring to me as a CdP. I prefer a bit more appellation typicity of kirsch/garrigue/barnyard/brett notes of the old school, at 10 years old.

My idea of a CdP - that delightful blend of fruit and earth - long finish that retains intensity and a great buy. Patience is rewarded - a few more to enjoy as well

Vinturied into decant, consumed over several hours. A classic in style and taste, I was surprised at the depth of the fruit, full bodied and lush. Paired with Chicken Marsala, delicious. I’d say at or near peak drinking window. Drink now thru 2022/4
