Stunning. This was one of the wines of the night and given its ratings i was surprised. rich, powerful, yet sleek, elegant and well balanced. Perfectly mature. Vogue ruled the 60s

Vogue Musigny Dinner at Charlie Trotter's (Chicago, IL): There is always risk with older wines with ambiguous provenance, but this bottle looked to be in good shape with good color and a reasonable fill level for its age. Wine had some good texture and mouth feel, but was too earthy and old with little remaining charm. Obviously this bottle was well past its prime. served alongside the amazing 1978.

Chronicle: Light brick color, lots of rim change; Light cherry, a bit tired berry, dry leather; grt a’s, lite silky ethereal attack, hint old spice; on its way out, but gd a’s. At J’s: Awesome elegance, silky, delicate cherry--still alive! 91--everyone loved this--w/osso bucco.

Six Decades of de Vogüé Musigny: 2013 to 1969 (Vaucluse): Tired and somewhat Madeirzed nose. Brown sugar and maple. Palate is fine but fleeting. Not at all comparable to the '79 in the next glass.
