  • Not too complicated, but hits the spot in the right situation, which I'd say is with sushi like tonight, or poolside on a hot day. Love the liter format too and wish more people would do that.

Anyway, very light yellow color. Fairly tight nose with primarily saline/river rock aroma. Maybe a little honey and a slight metallic element too. Medium body and finish, with lip smacking acidity, good minerality, and flavors of white stone fruits and minerals. Not blowing anyone away but enjoyable.

  • Gruner Veltliner – the 'signature' grape of Austria – is by far the nation's most widely planted wine grape.

The grapes for Der Pollerhof’s entry-level Gruner are hand-harvested from several vineyards in Roschitz during middle-to-late September and are fermented in stainless steel tanks. Look for notes of tropical fruit, ripe apples, white pepper, minerals and citrus fruit. Robert Parker has referred to it as “one of the greatest white-wine values in all of Austria”
