Showed really well last night. Savennieres, on its own, has great aging potential. When you choose to put the wine under screw-cap this will only add to this. This wine is aging very slowly and very gracefully: nice acidic backbone but also intense aromatics and a rich texture. A great, classic wine...

Still youthful looking and smelling. Hints of barely ripe stone fruits, pear, lime zest and hot rocks. Rich and mouth-filling without a hint of heaviness! Savory, salty and mouth-watering! Absolutely delicious as usual!!! The texture is oily and as palate-coating as olive oil but with bright citrus flavors and acid that brings everything to a dramatic finish. A panoply of flavors are just starting to unfurl. I should have decanted! This still has plenty of life, drink 2020-2025+ 93

Straw/ lemon and crystalline - very youthful in appearance Medium plus aromatics of lemon/orange and beeswax with beautiful herbaceous quality and intense minerality Medium plus palate of candies citrus and herbs Medium plus acidity - not really very high for a Chenin - also noted medium phenolics and some ETOH but well integrated Very nice length with linear palate and rounded edges This wine is well balanced and drinking wonderfully now - could prob hold for yrs yet though

Single blind tasting Straw color. Medium + aromatics of mineral, bees wax and bruised fruit. No oak Medium + palate with medium + acidity and alcohol. Ripe yellow apples, some smoke and mild phenolic bitterness. Medium + finish and a soft creamy mouthfeel. Nice wine, but expected a little more acidity and honey notes from a Savennieres. Also, color lighter than expected, given grape and age of wine.
