  • Despite a perfect looking cork, this wine is severely cork tainted, with a baggy nose and palate that makes the wine barely drinkable. Purchased through langtons.

  • Decanted before pour.
Nice thick, sweet with tannin pronounced mellowed. Smells and taste very similar to Shiraz.
I enjoyed this more than previous bottle

  • Savoury, Smooth silky with firm tannin. Some herbs but not that pronounced. Good

  • {cork, 14.5%} Perfect-looking cork, but it’s left a telltale mustiness all over the wine. A cardboard aroma lies all over dark chocolate and plums. The palate has a plush richness of fruit in a shadowy font, with the mustiness getting just slightly more pronounced after an hour open. Low dusty tannins, perhaps pushing the ripeness envelope a bit giving it a warm sort of feel. But really, it’s the 21st century; we shouldn’t be pulling tree bark out of wine bottles. Such a shame. The 2nd corked wine from my cellar in a week. The were 5 ok cork sealed wines last Wednesday, so I suppose I’m due for another dud...

  • Found this for 14.00 in a manger's special bin at the local grocery story. Normally retails around 50.00. Decanted for a little over an hour and showcased more over time. Big rich aroma showcasing raspberry jam, blackberry compote, cassis, cigar box, mint and eucalyptus. Good viscosity with strong legs and magnificent tearing after swirl. Deep purple in color. Taste: Initial waves of fruit compote and blackberry jam, followed by hints of dark chocolate, mint, eucalyptus and peppercorn. Well balanced with chewy tannins on the finish. I would say cellar for another 3 years or so. Great example of Australian winemaking that's well worth the regular price tag. This is not as good as the 2008 Piggott Range Syrah which was one of the best wines I've tasted but still very solid choice for a special occasion.
