Aromas of licorice, black cherry, black fruit, and pepper. On the palate, it is medium body, medium tannin, medium plus acid. Flavor is medium intensity with red fruit, cherry, vanilla, oak, and toast. Finish is medium.
I think a little young but pleasant enough to drink now. Very bright, almost sharp nose of red berries, candies and leaves. Taste is similar with medium to light body and medium finish. Nice typical character of Cabernet Franc. This is a new wine to me and frankly first time drinking Loire Valley Cabernet Franc. My familiarity with the grape is mostly from the New York Finger Lakes region which by the way is producing some excellent Cabernet Francs. 87 with probably a little upside. Enjoy.
