  • Inviting nose - typically Central Otago - soft and smooth - drinking well now - probably lacks depth to hold for much longer.

  • Drinking really nicely now and developing some secondaries on the palate

Colour has lost some of the purple hues but still nice and bright
Nose developing some secondaries nice touch of forest floor and mushrooms still plenty of raspberry , cherry
Palate medium Intensity and still needs a bit more time for integration between fruit and tannins
Overall developing nicely I notice the label does say drink 2016 - 2019

  • medium ruby, clear and bright. fresh strawberry and red cherry. medium concentration and weight. silky tannins. some herbal and savoury notes, a nice Central Otago. a little unpleasant stem bitterness in finish. I'm afraid there could be something wrong with my storage environment.

  • Costs less than NZ30, so great QPR for a NZ pinot noir. A good everyday house pinot. Deep ruby. Aromas of red cherry, raspberry with some spice and a little tobacco leaf. Nice ripe red fruits on the palate, slightly tart. Moderate weight and length, fairly straightforward. 88.
