  Drunk over a family Sunday lunch. No TN, from memory.
  Opened the evening before and slow-ox'ed over ~18 hours. Fully mature, but with plenty of fruit still, it had that wonderful silkiness you get only in wines which aged well. A harmony, a sense of depth of flavor which makes attempts at describing it almost meaningless. Stunning and one of the best aged Nebbiolo-based wines I have ever drunk.

  At the end of the night. Lots of sediment. Really plays into then balsamic note. Almost the same body as the 2000, but darker color.

  Showing appropriately for a fully mature Barbaresco from a good vintage, but one that often comes across now as a little tired. Deep tobacco and olive smoke, dried sage notes, red berry fruit, resolved tannin, moderately structured. Would have been better a decade ago, but still a pleasure to drink.
