We were pleased to have been greeted by this wine on this special 2019 Thanksgiving. He graciously shared the little fruit he had left, and despite his age, he was telling us he had not given up. He greeted us with a pleasant smile and soft handshake and a warm hug. We welcomed him to the table and enjoyed the conversation about our honored guest and how he became part of the family. We were very thankful.

Very old, still drinkable, a sweet core, but also some acidity beside, everything normal for a wine of this age. 84 Point for the intrinsic value and one for surviving.
Opened today in memory of my longest family friend, Ray, whom just passed away. He gave me my very first bottle of French wine - a white Bordeaux (not a Sauternes), that I do not remember the name or the year - just that it was very good. Opened, recanted, and poured. Very closed, but opened quickly and was beautiful an hour later. Nice bouquet, very pale brick-red color, but light in body. Balanced and tasted of cherries, with a medium length finish. Au revior, Ray.

This one grew on me the longer it was open. Developed more complexity and weight though still relatively light-bodied. A nice experience on G's 50th....she loved it!
