Aromas of dark berries and dry hay. Medium to full body and really juicy. High delicious factor with ripe red raspberry flavor. Bright and lively from start to finish. Tastes genuine and not manipulated. Smooth and soft finish.
again and again Ridge comes through with another well made unique wine. The Paso Robles greets you on the pop and pour with a ripe red and black raspberry nose with pepper and a touch of roasted meat. As with everything else I've enjoyed from Ridge, a little time in the glass (or a short decant) will reward the patient sipper. The nose opens up allowing some of the subtle oakiness to step forward. This one is a little juicy, but not at all jammy. The tannins are present but smooth lacking most of the astringency found with some of its sister wines. Drink this NOW. Do not wait, it is ready to go. best enjoyed sipping with friends over conversation to allow it to change in the glass over time. will also pair with most red sauce dishes. Cheers!
Ridge never disappoints. For the more pedestrian Ridge Zin, this is versatile offering. Lots of fruit and acid. Good long finish. A bit hot and fruity -- could use a few years. Very pleasat with Lamb Meatballs and red sauce.
Clear, red-violet, color-to-edge, strong extract A&B: blackberry, mulberry, plum, pepper, spice, violet Taste: dry, smooth, full flesh and body generous alcohol, balanced tannin, average intensity and pleasant quality. Correct balance. Straightforward, medium finish. Overall good.
