Tasted blind, this wine had a medium red center with light red/clear rims. The high- intensity nose put forth rhubarb, crushed black cherries, tan spices, and anise notes. It developed an amazing "jelly" like top note.
It the mouth, this wine was the epitome of class with its incredible balance, light rounded tannin, powerful flavors, and great length.
While this will likely continue to develop for 20 years, it will be hard to keep my hands off it as it is drinking spectacularly now.

just lights out. maybe not as powerful as I remember but still as pure and the nose just brings you in. The 1989 Jayer ech we had next to it was oakier and darker. The Chambertin permeates your nose and last on your palate but does this without force.

Corton Charlemagne and Rousseau Chambertin: Another great bottle of the 91 Chambertin. Great vintage, great producer, great vineyard - all coming together perfectly. Loved it. Not decanted in advance, opened at dinner then enjoyed over three hours.

Les Degustateurs last tasting for a dear friend (Smyth and the Loyalist Chicago, IL): So clean color, almost light. Some mint, swirling flavors on the palate.

Excellent. This bottle showing less evolution than some and light green notes. Delicious but needs more time. 96-97+
