Aroma: honeysuckle, lemon, vanilla, nectarine, tarragon. Palate: citrus fruit, apple, salt water, creamy, smooth and silky mouth feel, high acidity in the beginning then mellowed out, very long finish and well balanced. Paired nicely with Cornish game hen and roasted rosemary carrots and potatoes. Also paired nicely with a meaty red sauce pasta—mellowed out the acidity of the wine, making it smooth and easy to drink. Excellent even on day 2! 92

Récolte du Domaine. It clearly represents Les Pucelles, in that it has the flowing, silky elegance of the climat, and that magical combination of creamy lemon and cold steel with a bunch of white flowers which is quintessential for Puligny. The nose is very reticent however and the oak is a bit on the savoury side. Not up to the standard of the 2010.

This is delicious after an hour or so of air and on its own. Lovely green apple acidity, something saline about it. Nutty, buttery, a touch of apple pastry. Quite open now. Subtle on the nose but excellent on the palate but seems to be showing potential more than anything. There’s a spark in this. Love it. Yet it doesn’t feel like it’s giving everything right now. I think this is quintessential Puligny. Was more reticent with food (scallop risotto and chaorce cheese).

Coravin tasting. One glass with a sage & butternut squash ravioli, seeds & buerre noisette. Good but a little reticent. Needs more time. More savoury than fruity. Good potential I think.

Très élégant mais sur le déclin à 9 ans. Les signes de sa puissance passée sont encore bien présents.
