  • I still absolutely love this wine. Still very fragrant. Still tons of wood. Still pretty fruit. Still very excellent acid for an 11. A little terroir showing through (if you can call it that). This is great.

    Got drier over time. More structure, more tannin. Fruit grew as well. I'm thinking this has room to improve and I couldnt be happier. Four left to drink. Magical for a Bourgogne.

  • BORGOGNA 2011 (IL GIARDINO - ZAGAROLO): Degustato alla cieca e non decantato. Granato sottile e opaco. Ha bisogno di molta aria, per togliersi di dosso residui di adolescenza fermentativi e plasticosi, da subito fa molto Big Babol panna e fragola. In bocca è molto meglio, un vero Bizot di razza. Imponente presenza di raspi che vestono il frutto di spezie e fiori.
    Il sorso è scorrevole, sottile e dinamico, ma fortemente pregnante, come si addice a un vino senza solfiti. Ha ancora un tocco di crudità tattile in cui i tannini sapidi hanno bisogno di ancora qualche anno per arrotondarsi. Buono e tagliente.
    Solita singolare interpretazione di un grande produttore.

  • Really delicious. Opened at 200 in the afternoon, revisited around 1030 at night. Finished it the following day. To say that I loved this was an understatement. This is definitely first tier Bourgogne and competes with Coche and the Mugneret Gibourg (maybe, and I mean MAYBE, too Barthod in the mix). The thing that kept sticking out to me was the silken quality coupled to the firm structure. It was glorious. It wouldnt have been a dog next to the Bizot 07 Vosne VV I had last month. Great juice.

  • BYO (Østerbro): Sweet raspberry/strawberry nose with a dusty touch but also a floral complexity and other aromatics.
    Juicy and full-bodied rhubarb/strawberry on the palate with a fresh and elegant acidity. Also a strange touch of beetroot.
