Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 80 points

  • Appearance:
The wine is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour, with tears.
    Nose:
The wine is clean, with medium intensity aroma of simple black/red fruit (blackberry, bleck cherry and plum) acomplished with some oak character (wood, toast, chocolate) and spice notes of white pepper. A bit green.
    Palate:
The wine is dry with medium acidity a medium level ripe tannins. It has medium body, medium (+) alcohol and medium flavour intensity of black fruits, oak and spice. The finish is medium (-).
    Detailed Quality Assessment:
Good quality. The wine is clean and has good balance between fruit and tannin, with oak not too dominant. It is also a clear expression of Australien Shiraz with a typical black fruit and spice aromas, though the fruits are a little over-ripe and jammy/confected in nature. However, the wine is not very complex and missing fruit intensity and tannic structure. The lenght is short and all this makes is good rather than very good.
    Readness for drinking/potential for ageing:
Drink now, not suitable for ageing. The wine has a bit fruit and some tannin structure , which helps to give it a shelf life of 2-3 years, but it will declaine over this period as the fruit fades.
