  tasted at huge blind wine tasting party (and the days that followed):
  
  this improved as it took on air over a couple days. not stunning, but definitely enjoyable.

  Appearance:
  Very good looking! Vibrant dark red, crimson with no visual signs of aging.
  Nose:
  Broad and complex spectrum of primary fruit, with Red and Blue Berries, Floral and Perfume characters. Hints of Nuts and Anise. Beautiful, decent sweetness!
  While very dense, perfectly balanced.
  Taste:
  Still a lot of fruit with Red Berries and Sour Cherry.
  Leaves and Flowers.
  Intense and long finish with present tannins.

  Very pleasantly surprised at how good this wine is showing given its 17 years but this wine is still looking somewhat young. I've always been amazed at how erratic this winery can be. Some of their wines have just blown me away and there have been equal amounts that I have dipped down the drain.
  
  This wine still is dark in color. I'd never guess its age. Still some primary fruit there with lots of sour cherry and red plum. The palate has some tannins and is a bit grippy. Long finish. Really good wine.
