This is continuing to hold up very, very well. Good balance. Tannins about gone, acidity in check. Smooth fruit with a hint of brambles. Makes me wish I hadn't consumed so many Bedrock Zins so young. At 11+ years, this is a real treat.

Good God. This smells like Smurfs running on rainbows! Absolutely explosive on the nose. Wow! So much going on it's hard to nail down. Spicy....but not the typical zinfandel baking spice. Dark purple and black fruits on the palate. Delicious and incredibly complex. After 45 minutes the tannins kick in and the wine shuts down some, hinting at years of enjoyment still to come. I was fortunate to have this at the Bedrock vineyard last year with Brian Tuite, Andrew Johnstone, and Chris Cotrell (thanks again Brian for bringing this) and it was WOTD then, and proved yet again to be my favorite of the night amongst VERY stiff competition (07 Heirloom, 09 Cuvee Caritas, 08 Bedrock #2, 12 Weil #3).
Explosive nose of cherries, pronounced spices (black pepper/clove/cinnamon bark), vanilla bean, epic mint/menthol. With air, tannins emerge and the fireworks become a bit more tamed. Regardless, an absolutely idiosyncratic Bedrock - amazingly elegant yet so utterly flavorful, would love to try again 5 years from now.

Brought to a tasting in the Bedrock Vineyard with Chris Cottrell and a couple Berserkers. Aging gracefully, been open 7hrs now. Cinnamon and clove on the nose. Strawberry/raspberry up front, medium weight, creamy texture, fine grained tannins. A little heat on the finish. Overall pretty elegant, a touch simple but delivering in a way that reminds me of an aged Swan Zin. I liked it and Rich said it was one if his W’sOTD. I’m extending the drinking window another 5 years.
