  Lovely full garnet color with brick edges. After several hours of decanting, great, slightly dusty nose of cherry compote, stewed red fruits, hints of lead pencil and earth. On the palate the wine was less complex and less interesting, with leather and smoke flavors dominating. Great acid backbone, this wine has structure and character and was a great match with veal chops with sage, polenta and Provencal carrots.
