Ceretto Wine Club in NYC (Il Gattopardo): From a magnum. Very pretty in style. It's that cleaner approach. Get some lavender and darker fruits in this profile which is a bit different than standard barbaresco. Enjoyed and perhaps even better because just a few weeks ago we had lunch overlooking this vineyard so it brought back some lovely memories.

Appearance - Ruby color, very slight orange ring at edge, clear edge, reflective, good body/legs - 3/3 Aroma/Bouquet - Black fruit, plum, slightly hot/alcohol, mineral/stone - 5/6 Taste - Blackberry, plum, vanilla, oaky, black currant, somewhat tannic, mineral/chalky - 5/6 Aftertaste - Black fruit continues, vanilla, tannins fade, still some heat/alcohol - 2.5/3 Overall - Good complex wine, fruit and oak, mineral - 2/2

Reviewing 2010 Barbaresco (Miraflores de la Sierra - Madrid): Simple but effective. Of a brilliant ruby color. On the nose the presentation of aromas is something simple and on the palate is too modern to my taste (concentrated, abundant, tamed tannins). So-so Barbaresco.
Sencillo pero efectivo. De un brillante color rubí. En nariz la presentación de aromas es algo simple y al paladar se muestra demasiado moderno para mi gusto (concentrado, abundante, de taninos domados)

Aiolos Tasting (Intercontinental Hotel): The nose shows sweet spices and oak, leather, a few red fruits and a nice decadent nuance. The palate follows the same path, elegant, smooth and almost velvety tannins, med body, subtle, nice acidity, med finish
