We felt this was doing quite well, really beautiful nose with fruit and light oxidative notes. Taste had alot of mature fruit, heavy body, with low acid (as expected) with great oxidative/sherry notes, salinity and light bitter hints. I dont see a reason to wait on this, but I dont there is any hurry. This will last a while.

Birthday dinner with whole roasted pescado zarandeado from La Viga. OK, whoa, hold the phone... This is a drop-dead gorgeous aged Condrieu (wines I do not like to age). Room-filling aromas of yellow fruit, wild flowers, and honey. In the mouth, classic viognier profile in perfect balance. Lovely bitter almond medium length finish. My last btl of this did not leave an impression, but this was truly spectacular. It is totally in the zone now and will likely not improve. Having said that, it has re-opened the idea in my brain that maybe Condrieus can age gracefully.
In Hawaii. This is nice and typical for Condrieu, but slightly over the hill. There is not much in the way of acidity here and it doesnt have the pop of freshness. Glycerin-y texture that gives a richness I dont love with viognier. Nevertheless, this is cleanly made and I would like to revisit in a slightly updated vintage. I have another btl of this so will see if this is just variation.

This wine may not be a long-lived (as Viogniers go) wine, but at this point, it is a wonderful Condrieu to pop now. I’ve said it before, “this ccuvée is all about peach, peach and more peach.” Yellow peach dominates but has ample assistance from orange blossom and white pepper. Honeysuckle hits on the finish, but the yellow peach rocks on with a touch of smokiness on the finish. With grilled spiced shrimp, sausages and assorted cheeses. Recommended.

well balanced with lots of pear and apple fruit. Some saline in the finish. Goes well with scallops.
