  • After a couple of previous "off" bottles, this one reminded me of why I bought this wine for my cellar. Lots of dark fruit is balanced by well integrated oak and structure. Black currant, oak and sweet tobacco on the nose with raisin, tart blueberry and strawberry flavors wrapped around lots of oak and some hints of earth or gravel. This bottle could have spent more time in the cellar, but based on previous tastings, I expect to drink up over the next 6 months.

  • Musty aromas when first open and cork showed seeping more than half way to the top. Thought this might be corked, but tasted fine with a nice balance of earth, dark fruit and oak. Mustiness never left nose, even on second day after vacuum corking, though aromas were more comlex with spiciness of pepper and licorice. Probably better with food - tomato sauce, pasta or pizza. Flavors show promise, but between the mustiness and cork stain, I question whether more time in the cellar will benefit this. Decant well and drink now with food.

  • Big dark fruit balanced with big oak. Decanted, but never quite fully opened up to reveal much complexity. I think this has cellar potential, though cork was stained more than half its length. Will try again in 6 months.
