The nose and palate resembled each other with cherry, fruit tart, mocha, nutmeg, chocolate and coffee beans. It showed the Musigny weight and complexity. I clearly enjoyed this a lot more than the group tonight.

1996 Rhone and Burgundy (Bronte): medium to pale red soft red berry and spice fragrance delicate, silky style, pure essence of cherries and red berries with subtle complexity from spice and earth. structure is gorgeous, tannins are soft but mouthcoating, has a purity and style that is enchanting.

The wines are pretty enjoyable from the feminine sense, nose was not as great as my last bottle, but length was superb. When drinking alongside 81 Latour, 86 Cheval Blanc and 89 Clinet, this wine unfortunately did not attract much attention. Pity.

This is very very feminine and elegant; almost a textbook definition of lithe and ethereal. Very pale red color; pretty bouquet of bright red fruit, some forest floor, and roses. The mouthful is so delicate yet gained some weight in the glass and as it opened further. But no mistaking this for anything other than classic aged red burg. Surprisingly solid finish of decent length. My gut is this is at its peak so no need to wait any further. And if you want something with greater power and body, this is not the wine for you.

Large range of aromas, small red fruits, a light vanilla/spicy/woody side, but very classy ... The palate gives off a slightly rustic power, it's masculine but we stay on pinot... The wine is full, with a beautiful acidity, a complex whole and slight peppery side is mixed. The balance is there, the sensation of having a great Pinot, corpulent, long, tapered but not thin. Great earthy and peppery finish, it's dense and long at the same time! Excellent

(Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Vieilles Vignes) Deep colour. Again the nose giving little away, though certainly, higher toned than the previous wines. High tannin, though much lower than the Richebourgs. It somehow seems to combine the body of the last wine, with being smoother and softer. This wine has, by a margin, the longest finish - incredible!
