  • Popped and poured ,high shoulder , under cork 45mm wet 50% ,withdrew in one piece , excellent condition for 35years

Colour deep ruby , clear and bright orange -Caramel on the edges 15/15
Nose subtle intensity ,lovely Bordeaux style nose - cigar box chocolate , hint of liquorice, earthy , perfectly balanced , no off aromas 28/30
Palate med bodied , lovely soft mouthfeel , fully resolved tannins , I swear there is still acidity , long silky finish , 20 seconds , a little dusty on the finish 40/44
Overall I had this along side a 2005 Cabernet Family selection which by comparison drinks fresh and younger , interestingly the 2005 is 15.5% alc and the 1984 is 11.7% alc very Bordeauxish alcohol levels
This is a lovely aged Coonawarra Cabernet 9/11
