Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 95 points

  • The wine is clear and bright with a deep ruby colour and dense slow falling inky legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of ripe plums, dark cherries, green olives, anise, liquorice, black pepper, cedar and hints of vanilla. It's dry in the mouth with medium- acidity, medium+ fine grained tannins, medium+ slightly warm alcohol, full body and medium+ intensity flavours of dark cherries, ripe plums, liquorice, black pepper and cedar. The finish is of medium+ length. It's a very good quality wine that shows a pretty decent complexity in the nose with well integrated oak notes, it has a firm tannic structure with a good concentration and length, but it needs more acidity to be well balanced. Drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and concentration to develop further complexity over the next 4-6 years, and could be kept 2-3 years more.

  • Clear, very dark ruby in the glass. Clean, intense but seductive nose with plenty of plums, black currents, pepper and summer flowers. Full bodied with moderate acidity, strong tannins which are still integrating. Plenty of plums, smoke, leather and black currents on the palate with a long lingering length. Lovely with short rib.
