Full Bodied. Intense. Delicious. Not exactly sure where the CellarTracker drinking window comes up with 2017 as the end of the road for this one. IMHO it's just starting to open up, with maybe 5+ years of superb drinking ahead of it. Great fruit, thick almost. Notes of spice, charcoal, vanilla. Just lovely.
This big, bold, Napa Cabernet has a nose of violets, sweet spices, dark fruit, and dusty earth. It tastes juicy and "fruit bombish" with currents, blackberries, bell pepper, and black licorice. It is mouth coating with good acidity, and has a medium to long length finish with well integrated dusty tannins, Well made and nicely balanced; a real crowd pleaser. [Drank alongside Rodney Strong Rockaway 2008 - The Honig Cabernet tastes sweeter, less complex, and less full bodied than the Rockaway - probably secondary to its lesser vintage.]
