Some bottle variation, the last I did not rate because of its high VA, but this one is fine again. Quite linear at opening, better after a 90 minute decant. Dark berries and prune, good acidity, smooth medium to long finish, rather elegant. Needs food and was a good match with Pizza al Gorgonzola, drink now or during the next 3 to 4 years.

Very classical Carignano, starts to be approachable now but needs a 1 or 2 hours decant. In the nose a lot of black currant and leather. On the palate good freshness, starts quite round but ends with some drying tannins at the end. Will improve within the next 2 to 4 years. Best with food.

See my first tasting note. This time there is too much cigar/cedar box. Finish too short and a bit harsh. Just past its peak. It is starting to loose its flesh. Too alcoholic, too. Drink in the next 3 years. The half full bottle (vacuumed) after having spent some days in the fridge has improved a bit: Now there is more fruit. Dried prune soaked in water to be specific. A hint of cherries, too. Hence 2 points up.

Dark garnet color, dried tart dark cherries and blackberries; palette cleansing tannins (in a good Italian way, this is a food wine). Spice box. An intriguing wine worth seeking out.
