86: Sadly a bit past its prime, showing some browning along the edges, but still drinkable thanks to velvety tannins that create a luxurious mouthfeel. Lovely legs on the swirl. However, there isn't a lot of complexity left and almost nothing on the finish back end. It's a shame, really, because Imagery wines are usually still great well past their recommended "drink by" dates. Maybe that's just Mourvèdre? If you still have a bottle lingering in your cellar, I suggest you drink it sooner rather than later.

This was a welcome surprise after a recent string of somewhat disappointing bottles from this house. Whereas the past few varietals I've tried have been just masked behind oak and jam, this wine was pleasantly expressive of the varietal. I could sense the relation to the French Mourvedre I've tried (mostly blended) in the past. The wine has a soft red fruit profile with a hint of dirt and rocks on the nose; this is a wine that is fairly medium in body and acid and would likely pair well with food (I had it on it's own). Medium + finish, this is drinking very well!!!

Opened a little past its window, still somewhat tannic, deep, plummy notes
