  • This magnum was generously opened for another someone’s 40th birthday dinner, rich and developed. Still drinkable but I find this flat and lacking energy. Fully matured profile of manuka honey, undergrowth, apricots and brioche. Fair amount of residual sugar on the finish. This is Blanc de Blancs but would have guessed Pinot Noir driven, probably due to its age. (83/100)

  • Quite developed on the nose with plenty of grilled nut and toffee aromas. It was dense in the mouth with a piercing citrus spine and rich brioche flavours. There was some mushroom development and the Champagne improved markedly with the introduction of warm buttered dough with duck fat and Manjimup truffle. It wasn’t bad with emu jerky with white soy and hibiscus either.
