Light on the nose but a presence of dark fruit and oak. Medium bodied with a very nice presence of black cherry, cola and fresh cut wood on the front but finishes very hot and acidic. With almost 9 years in the bottle I don’t know if time will really help that much. Drinking with food is a must. I hope it’s just an off vintage and uncharacteristic of Pine Ridge.
BTW, my wife really loved it and want to give a rating in the mid 90s. But with it being so off balance I just can’t—and I have the the app.

Nice can sav. Well aged and drinking well now. Some bright fruit on the front. Finished with some white pepper and tobacco. Paired well with bbq ribs for the July 4th holiday

Good, but we've had better Onyx vintages. Enjoyable to drink, but the varietals are not quite as well integrated in this vintage as they are in others.

Strange sequence of events...coravin'd a glass three nights ago and it was a typical Onyx. Opened the bottle two nights later and nose and taste were way off, somewhat bitter. Stored it overnight and tried again, and it was back to where it was originally. Can't really explain it, but scoring it based on final night.

Deep rich brick red color. Has cassis, some earth, blue fruit which layer nicely throughout palate. Firm tannins, but in harmony with fruit. Soft texture, long finish.
