A private lunch (Restaurant La Provence *, Driebergen, NL): Made in the best vintages only, from a 1.45ha walled Clos planted to Cabernet Franc and Cabernet-Sauvignon with an average age of 35 years. Unoaked. Lovely, sweet Cabernet fruit, slightly lactic even, ripe acidity, subtle notes of pepper and undergrowth, silky but a nice (if light) hint of tannic grip, good length. No great depth or weight, but a charming Loire Cabernet. Much more suave and creamy than most, for once there was a point to using macération carbonique.
Weekly tasting group RWP #061; Gamay vs Cabernet Franc (@ WW): Hardly any bouquet. On the palate a sweet start followed by a round, mild and easy wine with candy acidity. Hardly any tannin and a little bitterness in the finish. Terrace wine. Definitely clean.

Intéressant. Léger. Fruits frais. RQP o.k. mais il ne laisse aucun souvenir particulier. Pas très typique de rouges de la Loire.
