Kept that long as an experiment...and it's still quite good! Definitely no longer at its peak, but still very fresh with very distinctive varietal aromas. Fresh cut grass, citrus with subtil notes of oxidation (not very surprising after 9 years!).

Unscrewed and poured - I would have preferred a cork as I always think of the inside of the screw caps and the plastic film which must be in contact with the wine. But that aside this was a lovely Sauvignon Blanc, more reminiscent of the NZ style with green apples and gooseberry on the nose. The palate was surprisingly rich for a wine which smelt like it had not undergone malo, almost like there is some RS but in a good way which makes it taste more like a German Riesling with some petrol notes. An intriguing wine which was greatly enjoyed by all.

Ski in Okanagan valley with Le Vieux Pin winemakers. (Osoyoos, BC, Canada): Blind tasting. Clear hue. Nice nose of veirvena, elderflower and blackcurrant-tree bud. Mouth very fresh, lively and concentrated with a sustained acidity, mineral and keeping thoses floral aromas. Some acurate tasters found some rawsberry juice. A style close to Dagueneau's Silex. Very very well made. 91. I'm shure easy improvement could be done on the texture to make it more chalky : white pepper and minerality. Or perhaps time will improve the elegance. wine of the trip
