  Stumbled across this bottle buried on Ed’s cellar and took a gamble as most said this was downhill a few years ago.
  
  Lacked some of the power of other Jaffurs. Think it is a couple years past prime.

  Tasted briefly at our wine group tasting. Good solid CA syrah, flavorful and spicy with fruit slightly one the ripe side; some meaty notes in there too. 91-92

  Dense blackberry with anise and leather palate. Peppery nose. Tasty, rich, and fairly satisfying.

  This is one of the better Syrah's I have had in a while. I was a bit shocked by the mild nature. 2003 is still young by my standards for Syrah. Mocha, chocolate, wild strawberry. Great balance, reminded of late 90's Orion. Not as complex, but had the taste characteristics and the impeccable balance.
