Just awesome. Grapefruit rind, beeswax, petrol, apricots, and a long finish. Has the richness of a really great auslese but is totally dry. After two hours in the glass and warming to room temperature, a black cherry rose-like note (bird cherry?) comes through but everything else stays present. Can’t imagine this fading anytime soon. While it was fantastic until now, it’s singing right now. This is a wine to offer to an your friends who say they hate riesling because they hate cheap sweet wine.

This is still fresh with plenty of citrusy zests and exotic fruits on the palate, a nice sweet-acid balance, some salinity, good length. A high pleasure drinking!

My first VdF with more than a couple years of age and it's astounding. Much darker and more full bodied than these are young. That intense Keller extract and piercing acidity that can overwhelm young has dissappated through the other aspects of the wine...the body, the nose, the finish. If I can keep drinking these with 10 years of age I won't be particularly sad that I can barely find GGs anymore.

On the nose: Honey, apricot, white peach, bird-cherry tree and hint of the petroleum. On the palate: Yellow grape fruit, bird-cherry tree, seville orange. Long finish

Really good and the best bottle of the '12 vdF that I've tasted. Perfect phase now imo with a balance between lush tropical fruit, zesty lime and lemon notes and good acidity. Balanced and serious, no hurry but not much to wait for either if you're not waiting for the more mature profile.
