Was worried about premox, but this was an exceptional chardonnay. The wine oozes in the glass like oil and slaps you in the face with its upfront oak. Nonetheless, such balance and finesse. Do not make the mistake of drinking this too cold, as you will not experience the wine’s 20 second + finish. Rollin in around $400 on the market, this is a splurge that only white burgundy (and oak lovers) should consider seeking out.
Dinner at l'Apicio (New York City): Classic gold. On the nose, Josh says "campfire and popcorn," and he couldn't be more right, though maybe popcorn butter from my perspective... Incredibly classic nose; super mineral. Wowza! Palate is the same, more or less. Not huge. Saline and seashell; mint. This wine is out of a fucking museum it's so classic; a Titian. From the Renaissance. Eternal I'm sure, certainly in style. Wow!
